Cooking Up a Great Year

I am so excited to be a part of this AMAZING blog hop! The giveaway is awesome! I kinda don't want to share it with you guys because I want to win it myself!!

I love cooking with my kindergarteners it helps with many academic skills and allows us to have some fun.

On Fridays we make a little snack, eat it then write, and draw about it. We call it Foodie Friday, I was inspired by Kindergarten Smorgasbord. Our snacks are based on what we are learning about that week. Here are some of the snacks that we made last year.

I get lots of ideas from Pinterest and tweak them to work in a classroom setting. Check out my Fun Kid Foods Board on Pinterest.

If you would like to start Foodie Friday in your classroom here is a great FREEBIE to get you started Cooking Our Way Through Kindergarten can be done whole group or as a literacy center after you make the snacks.

Back to School BBQ Blog Hop

Can you believe its time to go back to school already?? This summer has gone by so quickly!
Back to school means back to a routine for most of us. No more staying up until midnight or sleeping in until noon. As much as I will miss the freedom of summer time I am excited to meet my new kiddos and get back to a routine! I can honestly say I haven't been the best cook this summer. Its just my husband and I and without a schedule our eating habits have suffered! Most nights its raid the fridge or granola with almond milk.

One of my favorite tired and true recipes comes from Plain Chicken, she always has the most delicious and quick recipes. These Crescent Pepperoni Roll Ups are so fast and so yummy for those nights when dinner is the last thing of your mind. The best part about this recipe is how versatile it is. I have used ham, turkey and bacon in place of the pepperoni and I have used different cheeses.

Now for a little giveaway I am giving away a copy of my newest product Healthy Foods Write the Room.
