There are about 14 days left until school starts and I don’t even know where to start in my new room. As I wrote before I have so much stuff that I don’t know where it all came from. I went to Target yesterday and I found a few goodies to help me organize my stuff. I found bins that I will use to hold weekly materials and lesson plans and I found magnets and other stuff that I didn’t really need, I just wanted it.
I have one week of summer school left then one week to hopefully set up my classroom. I am so excited I have quite a few of my soon to be students in my summer school class and its great getting to know them a little better before school starts. Now if only I could get them to stop calling me Mrs. Teacher! They are so funny!
Here is a great sight word activity I found while Blog Stalking. Rainbow Sight Words, this would be a great center activity.
I guess I would accomplish a lot more if I logged off the computer. But that isn’t going to happen because Daniel is at work and it’s WAY too hot and humid to do any yard work, so I will stay plugged in and Blog Stalk a little longer!
This will be my third year teaching and it will be my third classroom move. I am excited about the move this year! I am moving into a larger kindergarten room and I will be right across the hall from the library!!I also get to teach with a wonderful teacher who always has great ideas! As I am going through all of my things I am wondering WHERE did all this stuff come from?? I have soooo much stuff; I am embarrassed to even post the pictures for fear of having the Hoarders camera crew show up at my classroom door. My biggest weakness is children’s books. I just can’t get enough of them. I am constantly buying books and I don’t even know what I have. For example today I was looking through my books and came across 3 copies of the same book. I gave two away to my summer school kiddos because I don’t need 3!! I am working on improving my organizational skills before/as I move into the new room.
Here is another super cute blog that I stumbled across(the owls are soooooo sweet)A Teeny Tiny Teacher. So many cute ideas and a few freebies. I LOVE freebies.
Learning with Mrs. Parker is another blog that I found the “A Yard of Me” is cute and would be something nice to hang in your classroom on Parent Night and Open House. It’s an easy way for parents to get to know you a little better.

I am completely hooked on Pinterest! It’s so much fun to look at wonderful things that I can make/do in my classroom and home. I have found so many new ideas that I am excited about implementing in my own classroom!! So if you are not on Pinterest, get on there!
I am really BAD at keeping up on the blog!! I will do better when the school year starts!
Summer School started yesterday and my life will now have a schedule. I love the summer but my days get crazy without any structure.
I have decided on a theme for the school year… “Kindergarten is a HOOT”. I am so excited; I order a few things from Carson Dellosa and Oriental Trading. I am going to make a few things and will post pictures later. I found this super cute fabric at Jo Ann Fabrics. I am going to make these chairs/stools with the fabric. What The Teacher Wants is one of my VERY favorite blogs and the instructions for the chairs/stools is there. (Let her know who sent you.)
I even found some owl cookies that I want to make for my kiddos. I am going to wait until I meet my new kiddos and find out about food allergies.
